Manufacture microwired structures to increase the efficiency of exhaust gas cleaning system


Daphne Technology (DT) aims to investigate the production of large areas of metallic microwire arrays produced by additive manufacturing. These wires will be then tested for their suitability with the innovative exhaust gas cleaning technology developed by Daphne Technology. The wires will be evaluated against their pollutant removal efficiency in the test bench at the DT research facility.


The challenge:

  • Determining smallest possible feature size of metallic wires with sufficient mechanical strength for use in exhaust gas stream.
  • Determining best performing micro wire geometry for pollution removal.
  • Developing a format to employ this geometry on a larger scale.
