Low cost metal 3D printed parts made with Create it REAL (CIR) technology (using unique 3D lattices structures and deformation compensation algorithms)


The principle is to print a 3D object like a normal plastic part and then after printing apply a second process of de-binding and sintering where the part is baked into a high temperature oven (sintering process), burning away the plastic and leaving only the metal.


The challenge:

  • Increase the adoption of FDM metal by reducing the poor tolerances and inconsistent results.
  • Generating object specific data to guide the full process.
  • Automating and tracking the process as much as possible.
  • Improve the reliability of the solution by making the 3D printers more robust to FDM metal.
